Izra Marie Jans is an artist and cultural practitioner, currently living and working in Berlin.
She graduated with a BFA and MFA in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2018 and a postgraduate in Cultural Curatorship Studies at the University of Antwerp in 2022.
Combining multiple facets of her interests such as language, food, and the general paradoxes between nature and culture her work often derives from an immersion into the momental situation: what and where she is experiencing, is what stimulates her. Photography, video, found images/documents are poetically displayed as clues for her investigation on a certain atmosphere in daily events, resulting in a diary-like composition.
